About

Sacred Heart Center staff regularly need help planning for and organizing the many programs we run. Making phone calls in Spanish and English, assisting with marketing and communications materials, inputting information in the our databases, and preparing for various special events are some of the tasks required. Depending on your schedule, opportunities to tutor a SHC student or assist with one of our programs may be available. Administrative volunteers may work whenever their schedules permit, Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to 7 PM and Fridays from 9 AM to 3 PM. If you are interested we will work together to create a schedule which works for you.

*A minimum intermediate to advanced level of Spanish is required.
*Excellent attention to detail, good communication skills, and good organization skills are necessary.
*Previous office experience is a plus.
*V
olunteers must have an interest in learning about the fast-growing Latino and Spanish-speaking population in the City of Richmond and surrounding counties, who have a respect for the immigrant experience, as well as patience and flexibility.
*It is imperative that volunteers be able to work
diligently and independently, follow directions, and be passionate and highly motivated.
*We understand situations arise which make attendance impossible, but please try to limit these times to a minimum, and you must notify your supervisor if you are unable to cover a scheduled shift.

Once you notify us of your interest in this role, we will schedule a time to meet with you for a brief, informal interview. You will not officially become a volunteer until you meet with the Volunteer Coordinator.
