This morning I helped Ms. Karen deliver the last weekend bags of the academic year. Since students are going home for the summer, she also put food security and shelter resources in the bags. I helped put those papers in the bags before we gave them to the teachers.

When we returned to her office, I began looking through the filed consent forms, taking out the fifth graders moving to the feeder school, Chapman. Since the consent forms are active for three years, Ms. Karen wanted to give the consent forms to the site coordinator at Chapman. I found as many as possible!

After I finished that, Jasmine and I headed over to lunch duty. Since it was the last Friday of the school year, students were very excited for summer! They still had a half day on Monday, though. Kindergarteners were graduating today, so we had all of them sit at the front of the cafeteria, rather than spaced out. This helped Ms. Shimeka get the room ready for graduation!

When we returned from lunch duty, we started thinking of possible ways to make the space more efficient. Whether it is more shelving, less shelving, etc., we were just brainstorming! After that, I started to clean out a wardrobe in the room. It has all of the prizes that Ms. Karen uses in her room, and I made it a bit more organized by separating items by category.

Finally, we ended the day with door duty!

Overall, it was a great day at Roundy, and I truly hope I am able to return next year. I've loved working here!

I loved my time at Artuto Cambiero Elementary. I spent my last day helping the staff on Field Day. It was such a fun and heartwarming event, seeing the kids celebrate the end of the year with some fun and laughs. I hope to return to the upcoming school year to continue to help the students and community grow. Overall, I am very grateful for spending time here and hope to continue to do so.

I spent time doing bus and lunch duty and did trivia with the students. I also helped the counselor and site coordinator with extra tasks to prepare for field day.

I helped today with the CIS celebration we held for selected students. I got to DJ for the students and celebrate their success with ice cream and music with the CIS coordinator Anthony.

In the morning I helped out with breakfast duty before going to some classrooms and helping out the students. Like usual I went to Ms. Prue's classroom to help some students with their rocket math before going over to Ms. Cortez's class and helping out some specific students. I was able to help out two students who did not understand English very well with their reading in English and assignments about the reading. After this I ended the day with helping out at lunch duties, answering any questions the students had and making sure they had what they needed.

I started the day off by helping out with breakfast duties. After this I went on to help out Ms. Prue's class with practicing their rocket math before they went out to their specials. Once they left I spent the rest of the day with Ms. Cortez's class since she said she could always use the extra help. Since one of her students has trouble understanding English I was able to help her out more one on one so that she could understand the lessons. I was able to help her with reading in English, doing her math work, and overall understanding the lessons Ms. Cortez was explaining to the class since I could translate what was being said.

This morning I did my usual breakfast duties before moving on to helping some classrooms. I first went to Ms. Prue's class and helped get through the list of students who needed to practice their rocket math, and luckily I was able to get through the entire list today. After this I went to Ms. Cortez's classroom, where I was able to help out a few students. They were working on addition and some needed more help understanding, one of those students didn't know English very well so I was able to translate for her and help her understand the concepts in Spanish. After this I went to help with lunch duties, where I walked around to pick up food students didn't want and answered any questions or requests they had. Once the shifts ended I went on to empty the bins full of food bags into wagons so that the student volunteers could pass them out to students who needed the extra food. Lastly, I went on to making application packets for students to be involved in CIS for next year.
