It was really cool to see how many books we were able to clean and transport to schools.
This is my second time going to Service Day at UNLV and it was such an awesome experience, as I expected it to be. I got to meet a lot of new people from different academic years, majors, and interests. That is one of my favorite part of Service Day and also that we get to spend part of the day helping others and enjoying it. Spread the Word Nevada was such an awesome place; the staff was great, the work was not hard at all, and I felt like I was actually contributing to their main cause, which is giving the opportunity to low-income families/schools the chance for their children to have books and read. At the end of the shift, the group reflected on the service hours and it was eye-opening to see everyone's different positive opinions about what service is and why it is crucial to our community.
This was a very fulfilling experience. It was great to see how eager everyone was to assist and the generosity of the donors was amazing. I previously was unaware of this organization but will inform all the teachers I know of this amazing resource.
