On my day today, I organized the closet to be able to take out boxes that were needed for the 14th Annual House Run occurring on April 28th. I helped count socks and medals that are presented to all the runners. After counting the socks and metals, I wrote a list of how many more needed to be ordered to suffice for all runners. In all, the day was very simple, easy and fun!
On my day today, I helped review and compensate for the week's Mobile Cause Report. I also gave a hand to a few other staff when I did not have any other work in my plate. The day, in general, was very efficient in helping my current supervisor, Jacqueline, accomplish the little tasks that take a while to accomplish and are very important for organization.
At the Ronald McDonald House, I worked on a new system that was introduced last year to maintain records of donations and donors. Due to the system failure, I worked throughout my shift to call and email the people in charge of the system to fix the issue. When I finally got in contact and the issue was resolved, I helped clean out a closet that needed organization. Lastly, I helped store and organize some papers for store keeping. I also received word that there will be another individual joining the team soon. She will also be helping Jacqueline, my superior, in upcoming events!
On my day at the Ronald McDonald House, I started to help in cleaning out the operations office’s closet. Due to continual, yearly events, folders and souvenirs are kept for the record. However, they have amounted in number in the closet; therefore, the maintenance of the closet is something that we are currently working on.
On this day, I worked on organizing papers that are kept for reference. I made folders and tabs for the Gala binder of 2018, the Food Drive binder of 2018, the Third Party binder of 2018, etc., these papers, though they take up some space, are importance for ensuring that all events are kept for storage as a hard copy. I am currently working with my superior, Jacqueline, to find a place to store these papers where more space can be made. I learned that it is important to keep references as a hard copy, as well as digital, in case of an emergency.
On my second day at the Ronald McDonald House, my superior was not able to come in, therefore, we communicated through the phone. I did my work over email, sending important information. For example, for the upcoming raffle, I sent over the information that would be placed on the pamphlet to be advertised on our upcoming Food Drive. Moreover, I organized papers from the last Gala held into the according binder.
On my first day back to the Ronald McDonald House, I joined the RMHC staff at their yearly RMHC's Executives event being held at a convention center. I was honored to be a part of it and be able to oversee what was occurring because it is only held for RMHC Executives. However, because it was held in Las Vegas, the RMHC staff hosted it; therefore, they were able to be a part of it. At the event, I got to see how many RMHC Executives from all over North America got together to incorporate ideas and methods to make RMHC Houses more successful all around. In the end, I helped bring materials back to the House and help put them away. It was great to be a part of this event, and I am looking forward to what this year in Special Events will look like!
