The Animal Foundation

About

The Animal Foundation, founded in 1978, is the highest volume, single-site, open admission animal shelter in America. Last year we saved over 25,000 lost, homeless, and often mistreated animals.

The Animal Foundation takes in every animal who comes to us in need, no matter how sick or injured. From dogs, cats, and rabbits to pigs, fighting roosters, and exotic animals, we serve them all. The Animal Foundation’s lifesaving programs are designed to address the root causes of pet overpopulation and homelessness and include: adoptions; low-cost spay/neuter, microchip and vaccination services; lost & found pets; Community Cats; and more.

In June 2015, The Animal Foundation announced Mission: Possible 2020, a strategic initiative to save the lives of all healthy and treatable animals that come to The Animal Foundation in need, by the end of the year 2020.
